What KFLC is and Our Purpose

What is KFLC?

The Kansas Fraternity Leadership Council (KFLC) is the undergraduate leadership of currently 5 houses - Beta Theta Pi, Phi Kappa Psi, Phi Delta Theta, Phi Gamma Delta, and Kappa Sigma. KFLC is under the umbrella of Kansas Fraternity Landlords’ League (KFLL), which is an independent, nonprofit business league that represents landlords of 11 KU fraternity houses, which are home to 1,000 students and boast more than 13,000 living alumni. KFLL is comprised of the house corporation entities that lease residences to their fraternities.

In simple terms, think of KFLC as the IFC for fraternities at the University of Kansas that are not-affiliated with KU.

What is our purpose?

We were founded in the fall of 2023 to provide a coalition of houses that didn’t want to be affiliated with the IFC anymore, due to overbearing oversights on chapter operations and rules / regulations that were deemed unjust. KFLC functions similarly to an intrafraternal council - being that we have bylaws, a code of conduct, and philanthropy and recruitment events - but without the constant oversight and approval needed for normal operations.

What is the benefit of being in a KFLC house?

We believe that all greek life at the University of Kansas excels in their own respect. That being said, the members in chapters in KFLC tend to perform higher than their peers in areas such as academics, intramurals, or extracurriculars. From a chapter perspective, being affiliated with KFLC allows you to enjoy less oversight and regulations which in turn allows chapters to be the best possible version of itself.

How do I join a KFLC house?

Please visit the recruitment tab on this website, where you can contact the respective house directly. Alternatively, you can fill out the form on this website and it will be forwarded to all 5 houses. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns email kflc.ku@gmail.com.
